Interview from AOL Live Chat

On Sunday 21 October, Sean and Eddie Kaye Thomas participated in a live chat on AOL Live to talk about their new show, their past projects and what's in store for the future. See what they had to say below!

AOLive: Let's give a big welcome to Eddie Kaye Thomas and Sean Maguire!

Sean Maguire: Thank you! This is both strange and -- Eddie and I are very excited in a nonsexual way. :)

AOLive: Here's our first question for the evening:

Question: How long have you been friends?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Two months, since we have started working. And now we are friends for life!

Sean Maguire: Forever!

Question: What kind of girls do you like?

‘Off Centre’ Stars: Ha ha ha!

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Breathing ones!

Sean Maguire: We like all girls that make us laugh.

Eddie Kaye Thomas: I agree.

Question: Sean, what other shows have you starred in?

Sean Maguire: All British shows: 'Eastenders,' 'Sun Burn,' 'Danger Field' and a few others, but those are the main ones.

Question: Do you guys feel that in real life you resemble your TV characters' personalities?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: I think we find ourselves in situations that resemble the shows, but I don't think we are like the characters. I hope we are not like the characters.

Sean Maguire: There are similarities, but there are big differences as well. I wouldn't try to pull off things my character tries, probably because you would be shocked.

Question: Hi! What makes you guys laugh and where are you ticklish?

Sean Maguire: We both laugh at 'Spinal Tap' and 'Monty Python' shows.

Eddie Kaye Thomas: I am ticklish behind my knee.

Sean Maguire: I am ticklish on the back of my neck.

Question: How is it being on TV all the time? What about the media pressure?!

Eddie Kaye Thomas: It is great that we have a chance to do comedy every week, and I don't feel much media pressure in my life. It is a great job.

Sean Maguire: I don't feel any pressure either. I feel much more supported by the American press. I find them to be a lot more supportive, the American press, than the European press.

Question: What will happen in the upcoming episodes?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Venereal disease.

Sean Maguire: Lots of rude and embarrassing situations of a sexual nature.

Eddie Kaye Thomas: And I put a sunflower down my pants!

Sean Maguire: He does!

Question: Hey, Eddie, I just wanted to know how you liked filming 'American Pie,' and I wanted to tell you that I think that you are a good actor.

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Thank you very, very much! It was some of the most fun I ever had in my life.

Question: Hey, my name is Taylor and I just want y'all to know that y'all are very, very hot, and I was just wondering, how did y'all start off in acting?

Sean Maguire: I was 5 years old, and my parents run an Irish dancing school in London. And an agent saw myself and my sisters dancing. And the agent signed us up, and a few weeks later, I was in a movie. That was it, forever and ever!

Eddie Kaye Thomas: I was 7 years old, and I joined the Free Theater Group in New York as something to do after school. The manager signed me up from there, and seven years later, I am in a movie.

Question: Being from different countries and working together, have you picked up any habits or expressions from each other?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: First of all, I have discussed that British people eat beans on toast with butter on it. We harass Sean all day every day, because he talks funny. And I've added the word "bollocks" and "wanker" to my vocabulary.

Sean Maguire: I have been [adding] the word "sweet" to many sentences since joining with Eddie. Everything is new to me. It is not a word or phrase or meal, it is a daily learning curve of what you wacky Americans get up to!

Question: How can I obtain an autograph from you guys?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Right now, with all that is going on, mail is kinda tough to deal with. If you write the network, WB, we will do our best!

Sean Maguire: Ditto!

Question: What is the show about?

Sean Maguire: The show is basically about two buddies who care about each other a lot, grew up from two different cultures but complement each other very well.

Eddie Kaye Thomas: It deals with situations that are very realistic and which most TV shows don't deal with.

Sean Maguire: They don't have the ***** to deal with.

Eddie Kaye Thomas: We don't hold much back. We push the envelope over a cliff!

Question: Hi, Sean. What is you favorite movie of all time?

Sean Maguire: Why, that is a tough one! I would possibly say, this is one of 20 that I would consider my favorite, but 'Shawshank Redemption.' But it is too hard to choose.

Question: What do you like most about your job?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: The fact that we get to go in and just have fun every day, and all we are trying to do is make each other laugh! And it is a great group of people.

Question: Are you guys planning on being in a movie in the near future?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Ummm, we would love to do movies, but right now we are just trying to concentrate on the show.

Sean Maguire: I second that! I would absolutely jump at the chance to do a movie with Eddie, but right now all our concentration is on the show.

Question: What did y'all want to be when you were little?

Sean Maguire: An actor!

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Starting point guard on the New York Knicks!

Sean Maguire: I knew you were going to say the Knicks! I could have answered that for him! LOL.

Question: How did you get on the show?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: The creators of the show, I worked with them on 'American Pie,' and I got it through them.

Sean Maguire: I signed a whole deal with Warner Bros., and I read a couple of scripts, and this is the one I fell in love with.

Question: What's your favorite ice cream and store?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Favorite ice cream: coffee. Favorite store: Ralph's.

Sean Maguire: Favorite ice cream: mint chocolate chip. Favorite store: Hustler.

Question: Hey, Eddie. Loved you in 'American Pie’ 1 and 2. Which was more fun to film?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: They were both two different and extremely wonderful processes.

AOLive: Unfortunately, we're at the end of the show, so we have time for one final question:

Question: Sean, what do you most miss about England?

Sean Maguire: Without a doubt, my friends and my family and watching football at the pub on a Sunday with them.

AOLive: Sean and Eddie, thank you very much for taking time out of your day to appear with us. Any final words for your adoring audience out there?

Eddie Kaye Thomas: Thanks for signing on, and I think that tonight's show is one of the funniest shows that we've done, and thanks for watching!

Sean Maguire: I'd like to say thanks for those that tune in next week, and thanks for keeping to tune in. And things are just going to keep getting better. Thank you for the continued support, because we want to keep doing this for you, because we love it!

AOLive: Take care, Eddie and Sean. And a special good night to the audience. We'll see you next time!
