Eastenders

Eastenders – 1993

Aidan Brosnan

Sean played shy Irish Aidan Brosnan between (1993-1994), a talented young apprentice footballer who lived with the Fowlers. Aidan first turned up in Albert Square when his footballing talent was spotted by the scouts of Walford Town FC during a match in his native Ireland. The board of Walford Town needed somewhere to house their rising star and dedicated Walford Town fan, Arthur Fowler was only too willing to help out.

Sadly, shortly after his arrival, Aidan badly injured his knee, which effectively ended his dreams of football stardom. He slipped into depression and began to seek solace in drink. Then his girlfriend Mandy and best mate Ricky Butcher convinced him to try Ecstacy. This downhill spiral ended with a homeless and wretched Aidan, who had fallen out with his family, threatening to commit suicide by jumping from a local tower block. It was Mandy's love for her man which eventually convinced Aidan not to end his life, but he resented her part in his failing fortunes, and so opted to return to Ireland alone.
